InVS : Institut de Veille Sanitaire/ French Institute for Public Health Surveillance

Établissement public, placé sous la tutelle du ministère chargé de la Santé, l’Institut de veille sanitaire (InVS) réunit les missions de surveillance, de vigilance et d’alerte dans tous les domaines de la santé publique. Créé par la loi du 1er juillet 1998 relative au renforcement de la veille sanitaire et au contrôle de la sécurité sanitaire des produits destinés à l’homme, l’InVS a vu ses missions complétées et renforcées par la loi du 9 août 2004 relative à la politique de santé publique, afin de répondre aux nouveaux défis révélés par les crises sanitaires récentes et les risques émergents.

Les missions confiées à l’InVS recouvrent :

• la surveillance et l’observation permanentes de l’état de santé de la population
• la veille et la vigilance sanitaires
• L’alerte sanitaire
• une contribution à la gestion des situations de crise sanitaire
  L’InVS participe, dans le cadre de ses missions, à l’action européenne et internationale de la France, notamment à des réseaux internationaux de santé publique dédiés à la surveillance et à l‘alerte sanitaires.

The French Institute for Public Health Surveillance (Institut de veille sanitaire, InVS), a governmental institution reporting to the Ministry of Health, is responsible for surveillance and alert in all domains of public health. Created by Law 98—535 dated 1 July 1998, to reinforce health surveillance and the safety of products intended for human use, its mandates were enlarged by the Public Health Policy Act of 2004, in order to meet the new challenges highlighted by recent health and emerging risks.

InVS is responsible for :

• monitoring the health status of the population
• health surveillance
• health alert
• contribution to the management of public health crises
  As part of this mandate, InVS participates in European and international activities of France, especially in international public health networks of surveillance and alert.

AFSSET : Agence française de sécurité sanitaire de l’environnement et du travail / French Agency for Environmental and Occupational Health Safety

• L’Afsset est une agence publique d’expertise scientifique. Elle vise à assurer la protection de la santé humaine et a pour mission principale d’évaluer les risques sanitaires dans les domaines de l’environnement et du travail. Elle exerce également le rôle principal dans la coordination de l’expertise française pour évaluer les risques liés aux substances et aux produits chimiques au niveau européen.
• AFSSET is a public agency providing scientific expert appraisal. Substitution CMR :

RNSA : Réseau National de Surveillance Aérobiologique / French Aerobiological Network

• Objectif : le RNSA est une association loi de 1901 qui a en charge le réseau national de surveillance aérobiologique. Son objet principal est l´étude du contenu de l´air en particules biologiques (pollens, moisissures, etc.) pouvant avoir une incidence sur le risque allergique pour la population. Dans ce but, le RNSA a implanté et suit en continu environ 70 capteurs de pollens répartis sur le territoire national ; ces informations sont comparées aux données cliniques associées et recueillies en parallèle. A partir des données polliniques, des données cliniques et des données météorologiques, le RNSA élabore des bulletins d’information allergo-polliniques qui sont mis en ligne sur son site Internet pour informer les services de l’Etat, les médecins allergologues, les personnes allergiques, etc.
• Purpose : RNSA (private association) is the French aerobiology network. Its role is to collect biological particles (pollen and molds) in the air. RNSA has installed around 70 aero-allergen monitoring stations in France ; these data are compared with clinical data collected as well. From pollen data, clinical data and meteorological forecast, RNSA write an allergo-pollinic information. This information is put on Internet to French authorities, clinicians, allergic people, etc.
